FAQ: What role do the central and peripheral role devices play in pairing and connecting?

Last Updated: Jan 09, 2014 03:14PM EST
During pairing, a device in the central role looks for peripherals that are currently advertising. The central device is also the only one which may initiate pairing, which prompts for user authorization. Subsequent connections may be configured to proceed automatically once the two devices are bonded.
